We will start with a visit to the Brazilian colonial art heritage and Unesco´s Cultural Heritage, the São Bento Church, which is one of Rio´s architectural treasures. The construction, which took two centuries of work, started in 1586. The São Bento Hill, where this Church is located, is an island of silence amidst the hectic Downtown Rio. And the monastic simplicity of its external area contrasts with the exuberance of the most authentic Brazilian Baroque. Continuing the tour, we pass by Pio X Square, where we have the Nossa Senhora da Candelária Church (1775). This Church is one of the most beautiful in Rio, with its cathedral-like style. The ceiling paintings in the main aisle have a unique beauty. We may also observe the Banco do Brasil Cultural Center, the city´s most active and refined cultural center. Moving ahead, we have the Paço Imperial, an example of the Portuguese colonial architecture, built in 1743 to be the governors´ residence. It has also witnessed important events, such as the crowning of D. Pedro I and D. Pedro II. Nowadays, it is a mixture of Museum and Cultural Center. Moving on with the tour, we may visit Confeitaria Colombo, founded in 1894 to be the main meeting point for intellectuals and aristocrats. The enormous mirrors with frames sculpted in jacaranda, with its original furniture, the paintings on the walls, the chandeliers and the skylight offer an authentic art-nouveau environment, where we have the sensation that we are coming back in time. Closing our tour, the Fine Arts National Museum, with its Renascence inspiration, several galleries holding great masterpieces, especially by Brazilian artists from several different times.

To go on a sightseeing tour in the biggest urban Forest in the world is a different adventure. On board of a military-like Jeep, you will start your tour by the forest. A stop will be made at the Cachoeira dos Macacos, where you can go for a walk, appreciating the local vegetation. The wide variety of orchids and bromeliads deserve special attention. There is also the possibility to rest under the shadows of jacarandas, cedar woods and copaibas, or contemplate the endangered species like the blue butterfly and the black-beak toucan. Continuing the tour, you will stop at the Vista Chinesa, built in the XIX century to pay homage to the Chinese who started the growth of tea in Brazil and the Cascatinha. In 1960, the actress Brigitte Bardot made a visit to the resort which, from that time on, became the most disputed spot in all the Rio de Janeiro coast. Without losing the magic of its origins, Búzios offers heavenly beauties mixed with a hectic nightlife. It is located 193 km from the city of Rio and together with Cabo Frio, Araruama and Arraial do Cabo it is part of the “Costa do Sol”.

The cable car ride to the top of the mountain happens in two steps: the first goes from the Boarding Station to the Urca Hill (224 meters); and the second from the Urca Hill to the top of the Sugar Loaf (395 meters). And it is at this moment when we have the most beautiful and panoramic view of the city of Rio de Janeiro. The Sugar Loaf cable car was the first to be built in Brazil and the third in the world; it receives thousands of visitors throughout the year and has become a symbol of Brazil. Completing the tour in downtown Rio, with a panoramic view of the Municipal Theater, National Library, Cinelândia, Arcos da Lapa and a visit to the São Sebastião Metropolitan Cathedral.

The ride uphill is a short ride of approximately 20 minutes crossing the Tijuca Forest and offering us a preview of the wonder sight we will have. Up there, we are hosted by a huge open-armed monument, Christ, the Redeemer, which introduces us to the city. After going down the hill, we will move on to our outside view to the Mário Filho Stadium, also known as Maracanã, and to the Sambódromo, a masterpiece by Oscar Niemeyer and where the most popular party in Brazil is held. Return to the hotel.

The tour starts with a visit to Jardim Botânico, created in the 19th century and having the largest and most beautiful collection of plants in Rio de Janeiro and in the world. It has almost 8 thousand types, among which, 300 palm trees of different kinds. Besides the wide flora, we can also see small monkeys and a large concentration of birds which are mingled among the Greek-origin statues and the fountains which complete the environment.
