Excursions in Porto
Visit the city of Aveiro, known for its typical boats called "Moliceiros". You will enjoy a mini-cruise in one of these typical boats through Aveiro's beautiful canals that gave the city the name of "Portuguese Venice". Time free to enjoy the local famous pastry - Ovos Moles - and panoramic visit to the traditional fishermen houses of Costa Nova.
Visit the mysterious city of Porto, one of the most ancient cities of Europe with plenty of historical and cultural memories. Have a nice tour through the "Bairro da Sé" - the heart of Porto with itÂ´s evident medieval roots. The visit ends at the famous Port wine Cellars - Caves Croft - on the other side of the river Douro in Vila Nova de Gaia.
Pick-up at your hotel and departure in direction of Santiago de Compostela where you will have some free time to attend the Pilgrim Mass, visit the magnificent Cathedral and the beautiful historical centre. Free time for lunch and for some shopping. In the afternoon departure heading to Viana do Castelo where you will visit the Cathedral and the historical centre. Return to your hotel.
Douro is known for its unique landscape of mountains and river where man created one of the nectars of the Gods. Discovering these places and traditions allows you to feel the faith of the nation. In Amarante on the banks of the river the Monastery of Saint Mary can be found. In Lamego a visit to Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora dos Remedios is possible. Lunch is included whilst overlooking the Douro River and its terraces where the famous Port wine is produced. The return to Porto is scheduled after a visit to Pinhão.
