If you love Mexican arts and crafts then this 4 hour tour of the markets and workshops of Tlaquepaque and Tonala is definitely for you.

The tour will start with a visit to the village of Tlaquepaque where you will find a representative selection of the best of local arts and crafts. You'll be able to see the artisans at work as we visit the main workshops, often located in beautiful old colonial mansions. At one time Tlaquepaque was a resort where the elite of nearby Guadalajara would build magnificent mansions in order to escape the heat and bustle of the city in the summer and at weekends. Many of these mansions have now been converted into shops and galleries.

Next stop is Tonala, a small village where you will find a huge variety of arts and crafts at prices that you will not find anywhere else. This tour is of special interest on Thursdays and Sundays, when you can explore the tlanguis, a huge street market spreading out over several of the main streets, when numerous vendors of ceramics, pottery glass objects and all kinds of hand-crafted items and souvenirs come from all over the region to the streets of Tonala to sell their products.

This four hour excursion includes hotel pick up and drop off, all transfers and the services of a bilingual guide. Please note that meals and drinks are not included. We suggest you bring comfortable shoes and clothes, sunglasses and a cap, sun block and extra cash.
