Desertas Islands - Natural Reserve
The Desertas Islands are a group of 3 uninhabited islands, about 15 miles southeast of Madeira and are a Natural Reserve, primarily to protect the rarest species of monk seal: Monachus monachus, but is also known as an important sea bird sanctuary. Sailing slowly along the coast, to take in the marvelous scenery of beautiful coloured rocks, dramatic sea cliffs and caves
then anchoring at Doca, for swimming, diving or simply relaxing in this small bay of crystalline water.
After a hot meal, prepared and served on board, itÂ´s time to go ashore on a guided tour.
Be prepared with bathing suit, towel, sun hat, sun glasses and sun protector, as well as a cardigan/sweater, and the camera!
